openstack/kayobe — Week of 2026-10-10

Stability fixes. A new pre-task waits for firewalld to become ready before configuring it, closing a race during host configuration. The merge_configs/merge_yaml filters and their concat behaviour were corrected, Ironic inspection kernel options were fixed, and bifrost_limit is now explicitly cast to boolean. The dev overcloud got corrected cpu_mode and memory values, and diff mode was repaired for AlliedWare Plus switches (backported across three branches). See the firewalld wait.

CI restoration. The bulk of the week was undoing earlier CI workarounds: four backports reverted "Prefer ipv4 over ipv6", and separate reverts brought back infra/seed VM jobs, Ubuntu overcloud upgrade jobs, previous-release testing for Ubuntu, and inspection testing. All experimental jobs were made voting, and the SLURP upgrade jobs from 2024.1 to 2025.1 were retired now that that path is no longer needed.

Elsewhere. stackhpc.libvirt-vm was bumped to v1.17.1, and the automated setup documentation gained additional context.
