openstack/kayobe — Week of 2026-10-24

Overcloud bootstrap. A new overcloud-init.sh script landed across master and four stable branches, giving operators a consistent entry point for overcloud initialization on every supported release line.

Release plumbing. The 2026.2 branch was cut, with .gitreview and master version updates, and previous_release set to 2026.2 for the 2027.1 "Indri" cycle. The earlier "Use OpenStack 2026.2 release" change on master was reverted (929556) so master can continue tracking the next cycle independently.

CI. A new job exercises Cinder with an NFS backend, SLURP jobs were enabled on master, and stale references to Docker storage were cleaned out of the CI configuration.

Fixes and alignment. Vault password environment variable validation was corrected to stop rejecting legitimate values, and the public openrc generation now reuses public-openrc.sh from Kolla Ansible instead of carrying a parallel implementation — removing roughly a hundred lines of duplicated logic.
