openstack/keystoneauth — Week of 2026-11-07

Discovery. The key-manager service now gets automatic microversion discovery handling in discover, so callers no longer need bespoke logic for Barbican-style endpoints (1011964). Several smaller typing adjustments landed alongside it: Adapter instances are now accepted in discover, a signature was realigned with upstream, and a handful of type ignores were narrowed or corrected.

Documentation. The authentication-plugins guide was substantially reworked, and a new service tokens guide was added from scratch — together roughly 700 lines of prose covering two of the trickier areas for consumers of the library.

Packaging. A sweep migrated dependencies into pyproject.toml, dropped setup.py and setup.cfg, pruned extras and linter pins from test-requirements.txt, and removed the sphinxcontrib.apidoc dependency from the docs build. Import ordering was also tidied up as part of the same cleanup.

Elsewhere. A reno update opened master for the unmaintained/2025.1 branch.
