openstack/manila — Week of 2026-10-24

Policy and public shares. The bulk of the week — roughly 1,800 lines across five branches — went to fixing policy control for public shares, with the change landing on master and backported to four stable branches. A small companion fix added QoS types that were missing from the index.

NetApp driver. The ensure_shares() path in the NetApp driver was reworked and landed on both master and a stable branch (~260 lines each). A separate NetApp fix added a missing raise in the SnapLock check, which had been silently swallowing a NotFound condition.

Stability. Several latent bugs were cleaned up: an AZ creation race when multiple services start concurrently, a missing raise exception.NotFound() in the DB layer, and an AttributeError in RequestContext caused by attribute initialization order (merged to master and a stable branch).
