openstack/neutron — Week of 2026-11-07

OVN backend. The bulk of the week's ~1,600 lines landed in the OVN driver. A backfill routine now sets dynamic-routing-advertise=false on existing resources for EVPN, and the OVN DB sync utility learned to sync the metadata port MTU while a companion change stores the network MTU on existing localports. Port rebinds during instance rebuild now emit vif-plugged, and a NB/SB deadlock on chassis updates was fixed.

Stability and agents. Several long-standing rough edges were smoothed: the L3-HA datapath stops tracking HA interface traffic, the DHCP agent is now notified about DHCP-disabled subnets, and the ProcessMonitor thread exits promptly on shutdown. Two functional tests around live migration and lsp_bind / test_live_migration_waits_for_nb_cfg were de-flaked.

Privileged and import hygiene. A series of changes scrubbed imports out of the neutron.privileged package — dropping neutron.common.utils and neutron_lib from its dependency surface — and confined the openstacksdk import to ProjectIdMiddleware. A per-call id was also added to timecost traces.

Maintenance. Three backports reverted the tox<4 cap across stable branches, plus a .gitreview bump for unmaintained/2025.1 and a move of its periodic jobs to weekly cadence.
