Concurrency and volume handling. The headline work tightens race conditions around volume attachments: a task_state guard now prevents concurrent attach_volume calls, and a companion fix stops a timed-out request from deleting a parallel request's BDM. The os-volumes_boot API proxy also stopped raising KeyError on missing body, and a NFS deny_share host locality bug was corrected.
Libvirt and live migration. Live migration of pinned VMs with iothreads now works correctly, and GPT image detection was added to the libvirt driver. On the config side, [workarounds] disable_libvirt_livesnapshot was removed, cephfs mount options are omitted when empty, [libvirt] nfs_mount_options was converted to a list, and a redundant VIR_CONNECT_BASELINE_CPU_EXPAND_FEATURES check was dropped. A revert also restored populate_missing_availability_zones.
Interface attach and metadata. A regression where network MTU metadata disappeared after an interface attach was fixed, backed by new regression tests reproducing bug/2152697. Metadata subpath queries now return 404 instead of 500, and port field queries during security group lookups were trimmed. noVNC traffic logging is gated behind debug mode.
Tooling and CI. nova-next moved to Ubuntu 26.04 and nova-alt-config to Debian 13; Python 3.14 support was declared and datetime.timezone.UTC usage replaced. The rest of the week was documentation and api-ref polish — typo fixes, unshelve docs, install-guide links, and a [pci]device_spec devname-reject note.
