openstack/openstack-helm — Week of 2026-10-10

Nova control plane as StatefulSets. The big directional change this week is converting Nova's conductor and scheduler to StatefulSets, along with the governing services and upgrade policy that make that work. A string of follow-ups cleans up the conversion: missing pod annotations, sizing the remaining unsized init containers, security contexts on the ceph keyring and novncproxy init-assets containers, wiring the cron and storage init dependencies, and fixing serialproxy service selectors. Neutron's rpc server gets the same StatefulSet treatment, and rabbit_qos_prefetch_count plus rabbit_stream_fanout are now set across all charts.

Cycle rollover and database management. 2026.2 overrides and jobs land while 2025.1 is dropped, trimming roughly 1,000 net lines from the job matrix. Separately, barbican and grafana gain declarative MariaDB database management (~700 lines), and blazar's API moves to run under uWSGI.

Stability. The metadata check no longer fails when the DHCP agent restarts, the rabbitmq-test script changes how it determines scheme, and ceph-adapter-rook now matches mon_count to the deployed mons.

Tooling and CI. Tempest gating gets substantial tuning — a KEK for barbican helm tests, correct network extensions, bootstrap image booting, horizon awareness, self-created tenant networks, cirros login, and an osh_tempest_timeout bound — and deployment jobs now only run for related changes.
